Eligibility requirements vary by program. Use the links below to check current rules and apply through the responsible agency.

Layoff-Notice Protections
Colorado does not have a separate state mini-WARN law. Federal WARN may require 60 days of notice for certain large layoffs and plant closings, but it does not cover every employer or layoff. Colorado receives WARN notices and coordinates Rapid Response services for affected workers.
Health-Insurance Coverage
Losing job-based insurance usually creates a special enrollment opportunity. Compare Connect for Health Colorado, Health First Colorado (Medicaid), and COBRA before choosing. COBRA can preserve the same employer plan, but you may have to pay the full premium.

Childcare and energy assistance use separate program rules. For rent, food, transportation, emergency bills, and other local help, 211 can point you toward programs serving your area.

Workplace Problems and Legal Help
Colorado’s Division of Labor Standards and Statistics handles certain wage and labor complaints. Employment-discrimination complaints may fall under the Colorado Civil Rights Division and the EEOC. Different claims have different deadlines, so check the applicable process promptly.
