Eligibility requirements vary by program. Use the links below to check current rules and apply through the responsible agency.
Unemployment Benefits and Filing
Nebraska Unemployment Insurance may provide temporary income if you lost work through no fault of your own. File a weekly claim for every week you want benefits, report all work and earnings, and keep an online searchable résumé in NEworks unless exempt. Nebraska currently requires five reemployment activities each benefit week, including at least two job applications.

Losing job-based insurance usually creates a special enrollment opportunity. Compare HealthCare.gov coverage, Nebraska Medicaid, and COBRA before choosing.

iServe Nebraska is the main starting point for food, medical, cash, childcare, and other assistance. LIHEAP may help with home-energy costs. For local food, housing, utility, and emergency help, use Nebraska 211.
