Unemployment Benefits and Filing
Oregon Unemployment Insurance may provide temporary income if you lost work through no fault of your own. File a weekly claim for every week you want benefits, even while waiting for a decision, and report all work and earnings. Most regular UI claimants must actively seek work, register in iMatchSkills, and complete a reemployment orientation with WorkSource Oregon unless an exception applies.

Layoff-Notice Protections
Oregon does not have a separate state mini-WARN law that expands federal thresholds. Federal WARN may require 60 days’ advance notice for certain large layoffs or plant closings. Oregon Rapid Response can provide reemployment and training help.
Health-Insurance Coverage
Losing job-based insurance usually creates a special enrollment opportunity. OregonHealthCare.gov provides the state’s Marketplace guidance and directs enrollment through HealthCare.gov. Compare Marketplace coverage, Oregon Health Plan, and COBRA before choosing.

Food, Cash, Childcare, Utility, and Local Assistance
ONE.Oregon.gov is the main application system for food, medical, cash, childcare, and other assistance. Energy assistance is generally administered through local agencies. For local food, housing, utility, and emergency help, use Oregon 211.

WorkSource Oregon centers provide no-cost employment and training services, including résumé help, career guidance, veteran services, computer access, and information about training assistance.
